Office of Diversity & Campus Engagement Hosts First Annual Our Liberation Summit

February 9, 2018

On Saturday, February 3, the Office of Diversity & Campus Engagement hosted the first annual Our Liberation Summit. The Summit was led by student speakers and keynote speaker Dr. Eve Ewing, a sociologist of education and poet. Since 2005, the mission of the Office has been to create inclusive programs that focus on social justice and to support students in their work on campus. Prior to the Summit, Sarah Lawrence students submitted proposals that sought to amplify and share knowledge and skills aligned with the Office’s mission. Saturday’s event included participant interviews conducted by AirGo, along with discussions and workshops led by students about subjects and themes related to social justice and community organizing. Thanks to the leadership of the Office of Diversity & Campus Engagement and the Our Liberation Planning Board, the Our Liberation Summit was a wonderful success.
