Giving Tuesday

November 13, 2018

On November 27, Sarah Lawrence College celebrates #GivingTuesday, a global day of philanthropy kicking off the charitable season. You can make a gift now to show your support.

This year for #GivingTuesday, we're celebrating #SLCscholars the students who bring their unique sets of interests and passions to Sarah Lawrence and combine them in pursuit of something special. Get to know a few of them below!

Ellie Goldstein ’19

Recent Conference Project:
The Effects of Delivery Mode on Shaping the Gut Microbiome

"I study the natural sciences and math, on the pre-med track. I'm passionate about women's health and making sure that women have access to the resources that they need to better their health."

BJ Sanders ’20

Recent Conference Project:
Playing What You Feel: Ethnomusicology and Improvisation

"In this conference project, I delve into the essence of sound and its relation to sports like F1 racing, goalball, and basketball. From this subject I then expand on the role of improvisation and how it provides meaning to sport."

Recent Conference Project:
Investigating the Effects of the Episodic Specificity Induction on Cognition and Heart-Rate Variability

"After graduating high school I took time off to backpack through Europe, attended culinary school in Lucerne, and worked as a pastry chef in Barcelona. Now I study psychology and creative writing at Sarah Lawrence, and plan to go to law school."
